We’re delighted to announce Brain Tumour Research and Support (BTRS) as an official partner charity for the 2019 Great Northern Mud Run.
BTRS is Yorkshire’s leading brain tumour charity dedicated to raising funds for life-changing research and patient support.
Every day, someone in Yorkshire and Humber is told that they have a brain tumour. They affect all ages and, regrettably, the lack of funding and research into the treatment of aggressive malignant brain tumours means survival rates are no better than they were 40 years ago.
Brain tumours have recently overtaken leukaemia as the most common malignancy and cause of death in people under 40, and the cure rate for most brain tumours is significantly lower than that for most other types of cancer.
BTRS wants to change these statistics, funding research into what will hopefully one day bring about a cure to brain tumours.
Already running on behalf of BTRS this year are Leeds and Manchester legal recruitment firm, Sacco Mann. They’ll be there with a troop 18.
Victoria Cavendish, of Sacco Mann, said “A lot of people have been affected in the office recently, so we wanted to get involved with a local charity that is making a difference for people with brain tumours. We thought that Total Warrior would a great way to support BTRS as team Sacco Mann. We are slightly terrified but we are all in it to help each other reach the finish line and smash our £1500 target.”
Join the BTRS revolution and sign up to run for them today. They are offering places in the 6k or 12k or Junior TW at just £1 each on Saturday 22nd June. Click here for more information.
